Sabrina/Giorgio…who are they and where did they come from? These two questions are constantly asked by anyone who has had the experience of watching this husband and wife duo perform. Captivating, cadenced melodies, rooted in Gospel and Soul, perfectly complimented by soulful strums of rhythm guitar is Sabrina/Giorgio.

The versatile and powerful voice astounds audiences, considering Sabrina’s petite 5 foot frame, and Giorgio’s passionate rhythms make listening to their music therapeutic. Their commanding stage presence introduces two seasoned performers who bear it all for viewers to witness due to the mesmerizing vision of the divine connection they share. When audiences experience Sabrina/Giorgio live, they are transported to an authentic, warm space surrounded by smooth grooves and serenaded storytelling. If there is anything that sets Sabrina/Giorgio apart from other artists, it is their connection to the people. They believe that there is nothing more fulfilling than exchanging energy with their audience.

The duo just released their debut EP entitled, Just Soul. The EP is inspired by the industry’s trend of creating sub-genres in order to categorize creativity. Sabrina explains “Our music is influenced by so many artists and genres and the only consistency is that we create from the soul. No matter what the song sounds like…it’s just soul. Soul music is soul music…it’s real, it’s deep, and it’s enough.”

For the EP, they joined forces with producer and bassist, Trevor P. Allen of Groov-A-Toon Productions, drummers Steve “Anthony” Belvilus and Dean James, keyboardist James Spears and sax player eZra Brown.  This group of experienced musicians joined their diverse flavors to form a very original and distinct sound that solidifies the soulful creations that were born unplugged.

Many ask about the way they express their name…Sabrina/Giorgio. Giorgio explains, “When we complete a song, we often can’t remember whether Sabrina came up with the melody or whether something I played inspired her to sing. The / symbolically represents our oneness as musicians. As husband and wife, we are independently together, but as songwriters…it’s hard to tell where she begins and where I end.”

Sabrina/Giorgio met in 1999 in their home city of Montreal, at a show in which they were both performing, and it was love at first melody. They shared the same musical influences and began collaborating as songwriters. Their decision to leave Canada was two fold. They left to pursue their graduate degrees at New York University, and to further their creative ambitions. Giorgio studied social work and is now a family therapist and Sabrina, a former marketing specialist for VIBE Media Group, received her graduate degree from NYU’s renowned Music Business program.

Everything Sabrina/Giorgio does is rooted in the sacred and expressed with sincerity. Many may misinterpret Sabrina/Giorgio because of their spirituality; although one thing is for sure…if you let your soul lead you…you will feel the rise…
